HC: When did you start, and how have you grown?

WebServe Canada has been offering reliable web hosting and domain registration since 1999. At a time when many telecom internet service providers are closing, WebServe is expanding. We are growing because we are small, focused, and able to provide reliable services that are increasingly important to small and medium businesses today. WebServe Canada has been profitable every quarter since its founding.

HC: What advantage is there to choosing a hosting provider located in Canada?

We know you can get some great prices (even after paying in loonies) for hosting in the United States and elsewhere, but there is a little known catch.

When many Canadians do a search on Google, Sympatico, Yahoo or other search engines, they will very often choose the "Canadian Sites Only" button for searches on Canadian products or services.

If your web host does not have a Canadian IP address (and many other Canadian hosts don't) then searches done on your site with the "Canadian Sites Only" tag on will never show you in their results!

Also, many of our customers like knowing that we’re nearby. We’re not some faceless corporation thousands of miles away, we’re right here ready to help you as much as we can.

HC: With all of the hosting companies out there, why do your customers choose you?

Our customers choose us because we’re reliable, we’re Canadian, our prices are realistic, and we’ve got the awards and accreditations to back up our claims.

HC: What kind of support do you provide?

We provide 24/7 support via online chat and email. With the online chat, you don’t have to wait hours for a response; you’re chatting with one of our trained representatives live. Also available on our website are short flash videos to walk you through almost any scenario you might come across, plus extensive help files. We also offer telephone support Monday to Friday, 9-5.

HC: What is your best selling hosting plan, and why do you think this is?

Our best selling package is the Starter Unix plan. With 10 email accounts, 100mb of space, and 10gb of traffic, this is suitable for almost any small to medium sized site. Many of our clients have never had a website before, and this gives them plenty of room to learn and grow.

HC: What do you offer that you wish more customers would take advantage of?

Inexpensive .CA domain registrations. Since we’re a CIRA registrar, we can offer prices lower than a company who uses a reseller to sell their domains. There’s no extra middleman, and no extra company taking its cut of the fees. One of the most common questions I’m asked is, “How can you offer domain registrations for so much less than other companies?”

HC: Is there anything else you’d like to tell us about your company? For example, new initiatives, awards, or recent developments?

Most recently, industry-leading online hosting magazine Web Host Directory has chosen WebServe Canada as their Windows Web Hosting Award Winner. We are also a CIRA registrar, so our customers register their domains directly with us, rather than going through a domain reseller.
